Top F1 figure hijacks live broadcast to unleash passionate West Ham rant at Sullivan and Brady

A top Formula 1 figure has stunned viewers after hijacking a live broadcast to unleash a passionate rant about West Ham — and he didn’t hold back on David Sullivan and Karren Brady.

The outspoken F1 man’s comments are going viral among Hammers fans, as frustration around the club’s ownership boils over following another dismal defeat.

Chants of ‘sack the board’ and ‘you sold our soul’ rang out at Elland Road as West Ham lost 2-1 to Leeds United on Friday night.

It was a third straight loss, an eighth defeat from 10 games in all competitions this season and marks West Ham down as relegation certainties as things stand.

The Hammers are currently projected to get just 16 points on the board this season.

But the team seems to be getting worse with every game, so there are real concerns West Ham could break an unwanted Premier League record as they stare relegation in the face.

West Ham fans place the blame for the unholy mess that is their football club at the feet of the owners and specifically Hammers chief David Sullivan and vice-chair Karren Brady.

The hugely unpopular duo have been targeted as part of the ‘No More BS’ campaign being run by Hammers United.

West Ham fans plan to continue their activism until the owners sell up or Sullivan and Brady are removed and wholesale changes to how the club is run are made.

A sit-in protest is planned after next weekend’s Newcastle clash at the London Stadium followed by a push for the biggest march yet before the Burnley game the week after.

After losing 2-0 at home to Brentford on Monday night, West Ham really needed a result at Leeds.

But Nuno Espirito Santo’s side found themselves 2-0 down after 13 minutes and there was no way back from there.

As far as West Ham fans are concerned there is no way back for Sullivan and Brady either.

Now one high-profile Hammers supporter has used his powerful platform to speak up on behalf of his fellow fans.

Top F1 figure’s passionate West Ham rant at Sullivan and Brady

Top F1 figure David Croft hijacked a live broadcast to unleash a passionate West Ham rant at Sullivan and Brady.

Legendary F1 commentator Croft is one of the most recognisable voices in all of sport.

He is also a lifelong Hammer and a season ticket holder at the London Stadium.

When he appeared on Sky Sports to talk about the Mexican Grand Prix, which takes place on Sunday, Croft used his airtime instead to launch an explosive rant about his beloved West Ham, demanding Sullivan and Brady leave the club.

“I like stats in Formula 1 and I’ll give you a stat for a moment,” Croft said as he addressed the camera for Sky Sports.

“It’s 3.1 per cent of our total game time, that is the amount of time in the Premier League this season that West Ham have been ahead – 25 minutes and six seconds. So opening stages against Chelsea and the last few minutes against Nottingham Forest and that is it.

“The next worst is Fulham on 13.3 per cent – that is how bad West Ham are.

“We’re not sleepwalking to relegation, we are hurtling at 225mph top speed down the Mexico City straight here, at that pace, towards relegation.

“Now something has to change and change fast. And not just the playing staff, which needs a complete overhaul, not just the manager who needs to be playing to what he’s got at the moment, but the top with the board as well.

‘Get out of West Ham now’ Croft tells Sullivan and Brady

“David Sullivan, Karren Brady your time’s up. You’ve got to go.

“I don’t know what decisions you’re making that you think you’re getting right but you’re not.

“If this was a series of The Apprentice, Karren Brady you’d have been fired after episode one quite frankly.

“And David Sullivan it seems like you’re running my club, our club, as a vanity project. Stop doing it, get out now while you can and while West Ham still have a chance of staying up.”

That rant can’t help but get the attention of West Ham’s owners.

The timing is also perfect with the West Ham Fan Advisory Board set for another meeting with Brady next week.
