Spurs fans have a brand new song about West Ham – but claim they don’t care about rivalry

Tottenham Hotspur fans are at it again — they’ve come up with a brand new chant about West Ham United while insisting they “don’t care” about the rivalry.

It’s a claim that’s becoming increasingly laughable, as this latest song proves once and for all that the Hammers live rent free in the heads of many Spurs supporters.

It is clear there is no love lost between West Ham and Tottenham, on or off the pitch.

The evidence is there for all to see down the years.

The fact West Ham broke a 14-year transfer embargo to sell Mohammed Kudus to Spurs being one example.

Some Spurs fans think West Ham rivalry is beneath them

Frosty relations were sparked by a bitter fall-out between David Gold and Daniel Levy after the latter pulled the plug on Emmanuel Adebayor’s deadline day move from Tottenham to West Ham.

At the time it could have been argued the Hammers would have been doing Spurs a favour.

That’s certainly the view of the sale of Kudus.

The Ghanaian winger has been brilliant since joining the north Londoners, much more like the Kudus who lit up the Premier League and Europe in his debut season with West Ham.

He helped Tottenham easily beat the Irons 3-0 just weeks into his move and Spurs fans have been goading their Hammers counterparts about getting Kudus for a bargain fee.

There have been so many flashpoints between the Irons and Tottenham down the years.

Jermaine Defoe biting Javier Mascherano, lasagne-gate, a spying scandal involving Tottenham and Hammers vice-chair Karren Brady which saw her and former friend Levy fall out being just some of the examples.

Both clubs have more traditional arch rivals in Millwall and Arsenal.

Spurs fans have a brand new song about West Ham

But it is churlish to suggest West Ham vs Tottenham is not a big rivalry.

Many Spurs fans like to play down the rivalry, calling it ‘West Ham’s cup final’.

But it has been Tottenham supporters belting out a West Ham chant about Kudus at games this season.

In the Tottenham fan zone at the Super Cup final a Spurs band sang to the tune of Bruce Springsteen’s Dancing In The Dark: “Can’t start a fire without a spark, Kudus is on fire, he hates the team from Upton Park.”

The song has also been heard at Tottenham games since.

Now Spurs fans have a brand new song about West Ham but claim they don’t care about rivalry.

After their 0-0 draw with Monaco in the Champions League in midweek, Tottenham fans filmed themselves on their journey home singing about – you guessed it – West Ham.

Many may have forgotten that West Ham’s new head coach Nuno Espirito Santo once managed Spurs.

The Portuguese was one of many managers who did not last long at Tottenham.

Now he has made his way to West Ham via Saudi and Nottingham Forest.

Nuno gets a special mention in Tottenham’s new song about the Hammers, goading the east Londoners that they will never win again.

Tottenham can no longer claim they don’t care about Hammers

“Nuno Espirito, you’re never gonna win again” goes the song.

The video, which you can see in the post below, has been viewed over 150,000 times on X.

It is fair to say it has backfired, though, with West Ham supporters accusing Tottenham fans of disproving their own claims they don’t care about the rivalry.

We’ll let you watch the video and be the judge.

For Hammers fans it probably does feel like they are never going to win again right now.

West Ham have won just 17 of their last 66 Premier League games since January 2024 and have tasted victory at the London Stadium just twice this calendar year.
