West Ham v Brentford team news: Two make first starts as Nuno drops trio after Arsenal loss

Nuno Espirito Santo takes charge of West Ham United at the London Stadium for the first time tonight as a visit of Keith Andrews’ Brentford concludes the Premier League weekend.

Graham Potter’s replacement opened up on the debate surrounding his remaining attacking options during his Friday press conference – Nuno had a choice between Callums Marshall and Wilson after West Ham lost Niclas Fullkrug to another injury – and, in the end, he selected neither.

Instead, the new West Ham United boss is seemingly set to start with captain Jarrod Bowen leading the line in Fullkrug’s absence against Brentford. Wilson and Marshall both begin on the bench.

In a couple of very surprising calls, meanwhile, Andy Irving and Ollie Scarles make their first starts of the season in the Premier League. Jean-Clair Todibo also makes an unexpected return alongside Max Kilman.

Konstantinos Mavropanos and El Hadji Malick Diouf have both dropped out, alongside Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Soungoutou Magassa.

The seldom-seen Irving will start alongside Tomas Soucek. The veteran midfielder returns to selection after missing the last three games due to suspension.

As for Brentford, Igor Thiago starts up top looking to maintain his fine start to the season. He is flanked by Kevin Schade and Dango Ouattara.
