Trevor Sinclair took to Twitter last night and suggested that West Ham United star Pablo Fornals is turning into a top player for the club, despite the lack of fanfare surrounding him.

The 24-year-old joined the Hammers from Villarreal in the summer of 2019 for around £25 million (Telegraph).

He had difficulties adapting to the pace and intensity of the Premier League.

Slowly but surely, however, Fornals began to establish himself as a very important player at the London Stadium.

The former Villarreal ace is now an integral part of David Moyes’s setup.

The 24-year-old’s energy and aggressive pressing is infectious. It is really noticeable just how much the intensity of our pressing as a team drops off when he doesn’t play.

Fornals often doesn’t get the credit that he deserves, however. A lot of his fine work, especially from a defensive perspective, goes unnoticed.

Trevor Sinclair took to Twitter to highlight that exact fact last night:

Fornals will be pivotal to our hopes of finishing inside the top six this season.

Let’s hope that he maintains his fine form for the Hammers between now and May.

And if he does just that, perhaps then he will get the credit he so rightly deserves.
