76′ Chance for Lingard! Leno parries Benrahma’s 18-yard shot and it spins dangerously near the goal line, but Chambers gets there moments before Lingard to clear!

    N. Pépé

    B. Saka

    Arsenal

74′ The second change sees Saka make way for Pepe in attack.

    E. Smith Rowe

    G. Xhaka

    Arsenal

74′ Arsenal make a double substitution: the first change sees Xhaka depart for Smith Rowe.

    M. Noble

    J. Bowen

    West Ham United

74′ Bowen is replaced by Noble as West Ham look to tighten up.

73′ Rice’s dangerous cross is headed away by Luiz under pressure from Antonio.

72′ A fluent Arsenal move breaks down after Lacazette’s deft flick spins into Diop rather than Odegaard.

70′ Aubameyang dances into the penalty area, but Coufal manages to hold him up and deflect his cross away from harm.

68′ This game has been breathless ever since the opening stages and it’s showing no sign of calming down!

66′ Huge block from Tierney! Bowen latches onto Antonio’s flick and it looks like he’ll have a clean shot at goal from 10 yards! However, Tierney races across and bravely throws himself at the shot to prevent a fourth goal for the hosts!

63′ Arsenal are right back in this now. They’ve controlled this half, while creating plenty of chances and now they have 30 minutes to complete the comeback.

    C. Dawson

    Own Goal

    West Ham United

61′ OWN GOAL FROM DAWSON! 3-2! Could the comeback be on for Arsenal? Odegaard’s wonderful reverse pass frees Chambers, who slams in a vicious cross that thunders into Dawson inside the six-yard box and into the roof of the net!

60′ Antonio receives a pass from Coufal and dribbles into the box unhindered, before rifling a wild shot over from a tight angle.

    V. Coufal

    Yellow Card

    West Ham United

59′ Coufal trips Saka on the edge of the box and earns himself a yellow card.

58′ Arsenal have created plenty of chances so far in this half, but they’re going to need to convert one soon if they’re to worry West Ham.

56′ Luiz hooks Odegaard’s deep free-kick high and wide from a tight angle.

54′ Lacazette swivels on the edge of the box and whips a curling shot straight at Fabianski.

52′ Fabianski rushes off his line to beat Saka to Xhaka’s threaded pass.

50′ Lacazette and Saka look like Arsenal’s route back into this game. The duo have been incredibly lively, putting up five shots combined!

48′ So close for Lacazette! Chambers unleashes Lacazette with a superb outside of the foot throughball and the striker chips it over Fabianski, only for Diop to get back and hook it off the line!

46′ Arsenal get the second half underway.

Arsenal were showing signs of recovering towards the end of the half, but they’ll need to sustain that pressure if they’re to complete a comeback.

West Ham take a commanding lead into the break after a flurry of three goals in 17 minutes. The hosts started quickly and immediately piled the pressure on Arsenal. And the visitors buckled quickly when Lingard lashed in from 20 yards. West Ham added to their lead clinically when Bowen finished off Lingard’s quick free-kick and they made it three when Soucek turned in Antonio’s header. However, Arsenal managed to rally and pulled one back through Lacazette before Saka missed two chances. Nevertheless, the hosts will be delighted with their first half performance.

    45′ + 2′ HALF TIME: West Ham 3-1 Arsenal

45′ + 1′ Huge block from Dawson! Tierney’s low cross falls to Saka, but Dawson throws himself at his close range effort to clear it to safety!

45′ Two minutes of stoppage time are added on.

43′ Odegaard’s corner is headed out to Partey who blasts a wild shot over from 30 yards.

42′ Arsenal are piling on the pressure now as Chambers has another low cross turned behind by Cresswell.

41′ Chance for Saka! Saka races in behind Diop and has a clear run through to goal, but he elects to take his strike early, and his low, 20-yard effort is saved by Fabianski!

40′ Well, Arsenal suddenly have a little hope. It was a neatly crafted move, before Lacazette finished it with a powerful strike, but they’ll need plenty more of this to recover today.

    T. Souček

    Own Goal

    West Ham United

38′ OWN GOAL FROM SOUCEK! 3-1! Arsenal pull one back! Chambers picks out Lacazette inside the box and the striker takes a touch, before lashing a half-volley that flicks off Soucek and into the roof of the net!

36′ Odegaard’s 25-yard effort is blocked away by Rice.

34′ Well, this has been an incredibly poor start from Arsenal. They’re struggling to deal with any crosses into the box and West Ham will be eyeing up even more goals.

    M. Antonio

    Assist

    West Ham United

32′ Antonio certainly meant to score himself, but Soucek was positioned nearby to divert the header carefully into the bottom corner.

    T. Souček

    Goal

    West Ham United

32′ SOUCEK! 3-0! West Ham are rampant! Coufal whips a cross into the six-yard box towards the unmarked Antonio, who heads it against Soucek’s foot and beyond a motionless Leno!

31′ Saka finds a little space on the edge of the box, but his promising run is stopped by Rice.

29′ Arsenal relieve the pressure by winning a corner but Odegaard’s cross is knocked clear by Soucek.

27′ Antonio shimmies into the box, but he can’t quite engineer space to shoot and his eventual effort is blocked by Luiz.

25′ West Ham have already managed five shots from inside the box, after a brilliant opening 20 minutes.

23′ The visitors will be fuming with the second goal especially. They were sleepwalking after the free-kick was awarded and it enabled the much more alert West Ham to capitalise.

21′ Arsenal need to find a foothold quickly in this game, or West Ham will take the game away from them before half time.

19′ Well, this has been a terrific start from West Ham! They’ve been all over Arsenal and it’s been reflected in the two goals. The first was a blistering strike from 20 yards, while the second took advantage of Arsenal’s hesitancy to profit from a quick free-kick.

    J. Lingard

    Assist

    West Ham United

17′ That was brilliant improvisation from Lingard! Arsenal weren’t set up for the free-kick at all and Lingard rushed over to pick out Bowen, who was left with a clean run through to shoot at goal!

    J. Bowen

    Goal

    West Ham United

17′ BOWEN! 2-0! West Ham have made a lightning start and they double their lead: Lingard catches them out by slipping a quick free-kick through to Bowen, who drills a low, 12-yard finish in at the near post from an acute angle!

    M. Antonio

    Assist

    West Ham United

15′ Antonio did well to not only dribble to the byline, but he also managed to maintain his composure and pick out the unmarked Lingard on the edge of the box, allowing the attacker to smash in a brilliant finish!

    J. Lingard

    Goal

    West Ham United

15′ LINGARD! 1-0! Brilliant strike! Antonio rushes to the byline and cuts it back to Lingard, who steadies himself, before thrashing a volley across Leno and into the top corner from 20 yards!

14′ Opening for Bowen! Bowen races onto a long pass over the top of the defence and finds himself clean through! However, Mari gets back to put pressure on Bowen, prompting the attacker to go down in search of a penalty that the referee and VAR decide not to award!

13′ Tierney scurries around the outside of Coufal before whipping in a low cross that Dawson hooks clear.

12′ Arsenal attempt to settle into the game with a long spell of possession knocking it around their backline.

10′ Chance for Soucek! West Ham are all over Arsenal currently and their latest attack ends with Soucek glancing Antonio’s cross narrowly wide of the far post from six yards!

8′ Bowen whips in a dangerous cross from the right, but Arsenal just about manage to clear it away at the second attempt.

6′ West Ham have started brightly: they’ve pinned Arsenal inside their own half and they’re putting the pressure on with plenty of crosses into the box.

5′ Benrahma’s cross drifts towards Coufal on the edge of the area, but the defender blazes his half-volley well over.

3′ West Ham win an early corner, but Mari heads away Cresswell’s delivery at the back post.

1′ West Ham get the first half underway.

The players are emerging from the tunnel and kick off is just seconds away!
