Photo: Lucas Paqueta’s reaction when Arsenal’s third goal went in

A photo has emerged showing Lucas Paqueta’s reaction when Arsenal scored their third goal against West Ham yesterday.

West Ham star Lucas Paqueta has been out injured since our 1-1 FA Cup draw with Bristol City on January 7th.

Hammers boss David Moyes set up his team in exactly the same manner as he did for our clash with Manchester United last weekend.

So with that in mind, it was no surprise that the Gunners gave us a good hiding. The West Ham fans were seen streaming out of the London Stadium at half-time, and Moyes told reporters after the match that he totally understood that.

West Ham are currently in the midst of a truly awful run of form. We haven’t won a Premier League game since December 28th – coincidentally, the last time Paqueta played for us in the league.

The Brazilian was in attendance at the London Stadium yesterday for the 6-0 drubbing by Arsenal, and he looked just as gobsmacked as every other Hammer inside the ground…

Lucas Paqueta’s reaction when Arsenal scored their third goal

The 26-year-old looked totally dumfounded when Gunners centre-back Gabriel put them 3-0 up just before half-time.

West Ham insider Sean Whetstone posted the below picture on his official X account:

impressed as third goal goes in against West Ham

In all seriousness, he must be thinking what on earth is going on? The thing that really concerns me is that players like Paqueta and Mohammed Kudus won’t want to hang around the club for too long if that’s how we are going to set up against the big boys.

Moyes has done a lot of good things since taking over at the London Stadium for the second time in December 2019. Winning the Europa Conference League last season was the standout of course.

However, it kind of feels like the time has come where he just cannot take us any further than he already has.

Lucas Paqueta’s reaction when Arsenal scored their third goal yesterday summed up exactly how we all felt.

And things need to improve quickly, if we are to have any chance whatsoever of finishing inside the top six or seven this season.
